The 2h in the A194 2h Nuts specifies that the ASTM A194 2h Material has been both Quenched & tempered. The letter H in the Sa194-2h Nuts specification indicates that the fastener has been treated by heat.Common alloying elements used in the specification for the ASTM A194 Grade 2h Material include metals like manganese and silicon with the addition of phosphorus, sulphur and carbon. These elements give the ASTM A194 Grade 2h Washer additive value like increased strength and enhanced corrosion resistance. Because of the limited availability of the DH nuts in certain diameters and finishes, the ASTM A194 2h Nuts are used as substitutes. The A194 2h Coupling Nut can be wither hot forged or cold punched. The ASTM A194 Grade 2h Material have a higher proof load requirement.
